David Kenneth Waldman

Dr. Waldman is a versatile educator with an extensive background in education as a published children’s book author, publisher, consultant,  curriculum developer, and educator with direct classroom instruction from early childhood/elementary to higher education. Waldman’s background includes over 40 years of experience training educators, consulting with education specialists, curriculum directors, and educational publishers to tailor and author curriculum and teaching models to meet specific learning needs. 

 Dr. David Kenneth Waldman is a recognized expert in international non-governmental organizations, sustainable educational development, and gender justice, applying theories with practice in collaboration with local communities in sustainable education policy and programs for girls in the developing world.

Waldman’s experience included interaction with educational specialists, experts, and leaders, at all levels in the education, non-profit, business, and government sectors.

He collaborated with diverse actors across various sectors, including government, Non-Governmental Organizations, the United Nations, the US Army, schools, community colleges, and universities, on a range of topics such asworked with a diversity of actors for Government, Non-Governmental Organizations, United Nations, US Army, schools, community colleges, and universities on various topics including; critical creative thinking, sustainable educational development for girls, gender justice, and gender equality.  Additionally, he has conducted numerous professional development workshops for teachers from 1980 to 2001, and spoken at professional conferences and sat on panels.

In 2002, Waldman founded an international non-governmental organization (NGO), 501 (c) (3)c3, called To Love Children Educational Foundation International Inc. (TLC). Waldman has been working in Uganda and Kenya as a registered NGO for the last ten years.  In 2006, TLC obtained Special Consultative status to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, one of only a few thousand in the world.

 The mission of Love Children’s International Inc. to expand children’s horizons globally through local education. Its mission is to create sustainable educational development opportunities for the girl child in the developing world.

Waldman founded Girl International Resource Learning program (G.I.R.L), 2001, dedicated to the promotion of sustainable educational development policy and programs for girl children.  He is committed to helping girls reach their full potential by providing equal access to academicel resources and supporting mentoring programs that span from early childhood to higher education, including curricular and vocational skills relevant to their emotional, educational, mental, and physical well-beingassist girls to achieve their highest potential by providing equal access to educational resource centers and supporting mentoring programs, including curricular, early childhood to higher education, and job vocational skills relevant to the emotional, academice, mental and physical health of the child.

Healthy and Smart A HIV Prevention Curriculum for Youth (2003) was initiated and edited by Waldman in response to the escalating HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa, particularly among young women and girls.  HIV not only yields significant biological and social costs, but is also detrimental economically.  HIV and AIDS are known to hamper efforts to reduce poverty and have negative impacts on educational development.  An additional consequence is the increase in the number of people living in extreme poverty.

 Waldman implemented Healthy and Smart’’ ‘ ‘train the trainer’ curriculum workshops based on UNICEF models in Arua, northern Uganda, in 2013, funded by a scholarship grant from the University of Phoenix to meet this urgent health crisis among young people.

Dr. Waldman served as a lead adjunct instructor, peer reviewer for the Office of Scholarship, and serves on the Faculty Council at the University of Phoenix College of Criminal Justice and Security and School of Business.  Waldman has taught at UCLA Extension Humanities & Social Sciences Non-profit Certificate Management Program since 2012 and developed an acclaimed curriculum and syllabus for a new course entitled ‘The Evolving Role of Non-profits in Society: Activism, Advocacy and Social Responsibility.  Recently, he was asked to peer review an article for The Journal of Global Health Care Systems.

Waldman has had his written and oral statements published by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) (2006 to present) into the six official United Nations languages.  The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Committee on NGOs recommended Waldman to deliver an oral statement at the High Level Segment 2012 Ministerial meeting focus on the Annual Ministerial Review theme of [romoting productive capacity, employment and decent work to eradicate poverty in the context of inclusive, sustainable and equitable economic growth at all levels for achieving the MDGs.  

Waldman had many accepted written statements including to the 2012 High Level Segment of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of United Nations and distributed to all participants of ECOSOC High Level Segment., written statement to 2011 High Level Segment of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) distribution to all participants of the ECOSOC High Level Segment, Economic and Social Council of United Nations, at its Substantive Session on 25 July 2010, decided to take note of the quadrennial report of To Love Children Educational Foundation International Inc.            Dr. Waldman is a social entrepreneur and is founder of Rebecca House International Publishing Company (1985) and founder, editor-in-chief and occasional author of The Global Child Journal (2002), Waldman created, produces and hosts The Global Child Radio Show (2012) streaming regularly on iTunes and Webtalkradio.net with 5000 listeners David Kenneth Waldman inspires conversations of promise with a diverse range of experts from civil society and the UN.  Guests include educators, governmental officials, and child advocates, talking about innovative ideas and solutions for positive social change.  He is dedicated to creating awareness of the challenges facing children in the developing world, including but not limited to: access to education for the most vulnerable girls, gender justice, gender violence issues, and human rights violations.

Astin, LTC, MI, Commanding United States Army Garrison, Darmstadt, Germany, Department of Army, Achievement Medal for Sustained Superior Civilian Service for Initiative and Professionalism as a Training and Curriculum Specialist Maintaining the Highest Levels of Compliance to Soldiers, Family Members and Children for duty served from 2003 to, 2008.

Waldman’s global perspective comes from his travel to 47 countries all over the world since 1971, and he has had residences in four states and in Germany.
